A good generic cover letter for a general IT job

I usually prefer to write a focused letter of intent but this is a generic one that might fit broadly in any sector without having a concentration in mind.

This is a very old letter I wrote it to the first company I worked for: libanweb
To Whom It May Concern:

Aiming for a fruitful IT career, I intend to grasp every available opportunity that can provide me with a wide link of information and knowledge.

Until recently, I am seeking to maximize my performance in IT world and Internet services thereby to go to the depth and breadth of new involvement.  Please regard this as an application for any project basis vacancy at your company in the domain of Internet project design and implementation. I believe that I possess a unique mix of experience and skills that can definitely help your company as well as being a mature computer specialist with strong technical and analytical skills, Able to learn new systems quickly, meet deadlines promptly, Detail oriented, with sound business sense and logic; challenged by new opportunities. Your company is the kind of work to which I would very much like to contribute that’s why I would appreciate the opportunity of meeting with you personally to present my qualifications in more detail.

This is another recent cover letter written recently for a managerial opening at an incubator center in Qatar

To whom it might concern,

I have seen the incubator management post for “Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC)” and it attracts my attention for various reasons. Entrepreneurship is my passion and I have been in this field as a teacher, serial entrepreneur, startup mentor and consultant. In fact, my LinkedIn profile is best recommended for Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Leadership, Management and Startups.

For the past two decades, I have launched three startups in Lebanon, Canada and Saudi Arabia. I have also studied and taught entrepreneurship at John Molson School of Business whether for students’ entrepreneurship, hi-tech, or social and sustainable startups. I have also participated in various incubators programs in Montreal.

I am sure I will have impressive toolbox and added value that I can contribute to the programs of QBIC in terms of entrepreneurs’’ selection, support, technical analysis, R&D resources, and business plan review, coaching, consultation and growth strategic plans. In addition, I can work with advanced startup on acquiring the right lean tools and systems to boost their productivity and profitability chances.

I would like to thank you in advance for the consideration of my application and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Bilal Abdul Kader, MBA, PhDc
